Sunday Seminar IV: America at 250

Join Rev. Stuart Gordon, Dr. Ron White, and Dr. Jesse George-Nichols for our Spring Seminar series

America at 250: Part 4

Our Sunday Seminars this year have focused on the Declaration of Independence, along with the challenges of our nation living into its conviction that "all men are created equal." On May 17, Scholar-in-Residence Dr. Ron White will conclude the series with an examination of Abraham Lincoln's effort to reassert the value of the Declaration as fundamental to America's self-identity.

In addition, participants will be invited into a larger conversation about its continuing importance in American society. Sunday Seminars are not simply history; they are a continuing exercise in responsible Christian involvement in the public sphere. We aim to hold up our public polices to the light of our faith, to practice civil discourse and even civil disagreement.

Join us at 2:00 PM in Fellowship Hall, followed by refreshments in the courtyard.

You may let us know of your intention to be there by clicking here.

Sunday Seminars are Community Church's ministry to the public square, as we seek to offer a faithful, informed Christian witness on matters of common concern.
