Open Position: Director for Contemporary Worship (Part Time)
San Marino Community Church is looking for a musically dynamic and spiritually grounded leader for our Contemporary Worship service! The position description can be found here. Pastors & Staff
Pastoral staff are called by the church to provide spiritual guidance and discipleship for the church community. Program staff are hired by the church to create worship experiences and opportunities for connection that support the spiritual needs of the church community. Administrative staff are hired by the church to maintain the systems that support programs and discipleship.
Elders
Ruling elders are called to ministry in partnership with teaching elders/pastors. Within this calling, ruling elders have responsibilities in several areas of the life of the church including exercise in leadership, governance, spiritual discernment, and discipline.
Elders are selected by the Officer Nominating Committee which is appointed at the annual meeting. They are elected in the fall by the congregation at a Special Meeting of the Congregation in the fall to serve a three-year term beginning in January. They receive training as new officers and ongoing training through the course of their terms.
Each elder serves on one or more Session committee/team. Currently these committees include Buildings & Grounds Committee, Congregational Development Team (CDT), Education and Spiritual Development (ESD), Finance, Mission/Outreach Team, Personnel, and Worship.
Deacons
The Board of Deacons is called to ministry in partnership with teaching elders/pastors. Within this calling, deacons have responsibilities in several areas of the life of the church that include member care.
Deacons are selected by the Officer Nominating Committee which is appointed at the annual meeting. They are elected by the congregation at a special meeting of the congregation in the fall to serve a three-year term beginning in January. They receive training as new officers and ongoing training through the course of their terms.
The Deacons lead the congregation in caring ministries which currently include Caring Cooks, College/Military Care Packages, Courtyard Letters, Flower Ministry, Grief Ministry, and Lay Visitation.
