Sunday Seminar Program Update

America at 250: All Men are Created Equal

On March 8, Ron White, Jessie George-Nichol, and Stuart Gordon will continue our Sunday Seminar series America at 250. They have made an adjustment to the schedule for this month. Stuart will take the lead and offer remarks on Thomas Jefferson's phrase, "All men are created equal."

Historian Thomas Kidd says, "It took Jefferson's phrase to establish equality by creation as the essential principle of the American creed. . . Such [theological] language offered a more transcendent basis for equality."

At 2:00 in Fellowship Hall, Stuart will offer remarks on the religious and political convictions behind that phrase, as well as offering a pastoral theologian's critique and further reflection. Ron and Jesse will respond, and participants will then join the conversation.
