Sunday Seminar with Dr. Ron C. White

History is unfolding this summer with a Supreme Court ruling that frees churches and pastors to endorse political candidates—raising new questions about the separation of church and state. Justice Sandra Day O’Connor once asked, “Why would we trade a system that has served us so well for one that has served others so poorly?”

On October 12, Scholar-in-Residence Ron White will lead a Sunday Seminar on that very question, drawing on Randall Balmer’s new book, America’s Best Idea: The Separation of Church and State. Associate Pastor Stuart Gordon will facilitate and provide brief readings on early American views of church and state.
