Psalms for Summer | June 2 - September 1

Our Summer 2024 Sermon Series is underway! Look here for events, updates and our study guide.

This summer, we will be diving into the book of Psalms, focusing on a new theme every two weeks. Our themes include: pilgrimage, lament, wisdom, praise and more.

Join our Psalm Study with this guide:

Every week, you can follow along with our sermons and engage the psalm of the week on a deeper level with our Psalms Study Guide created by Associate Pastor, Rev. Dr. Erik Wiebe. This guide includes all of the psalms we will be covering throughout this series, reflective questions and space to take notes. You can pick up a copy of the printed guide in the Courtyard on Sundays or view a digital version of the guide by clicking here.

Creating our own Psalms:

We hope you will take some time this summer to write a Psalm of your own! To help inspire you, our Study Guide also includes several psalms written by members of our clergy and staff. Additionally, we will soon be displaying their psalms in the Courtyard throughout the Summer. Throughout the month of July, we will be collecting psalms and will begin to share these psalms (anonymously if you choose) with the congregation later this summer. More information coming soon!

Upcoming Events:

Psalms Workshops: June 25 & July 16 | 4:00 P.M. | Community Room

Join us for two engaging "Psalm Workshops" this summer! We will dig into a reading of the Psalms together, discussing interpretation and impact on the community of faith and our own personal lives, and also be introduced to helpful tools and practices for writing our own Psalms. Join your fellow church members for these meaningful conversations, giving us inroads into more life-giving encounters with God and with each other.

Tuesday, June 25: Psalm 84 "Pilgrimage" & Psalm 6 "Penitential"

Tuesday, July 16: Psalm 92 "Thanksgiving & Psalm 13 "Lament"

Why We Sing: An Evening of Music & Worship | August 4 | Courtyard

Save the date for an evening for all ages. As we approach the conclusion of our Psalms for Summer Series, we invite you to join us for a casual and meaningful time of worship, including songs from our Children’s Ministries and the unveiling of our congregation’s original psalms. More information to come!
